Abstract: More than 20% of the population of Western countries have chronic musculoskeletal pain (CMP) and the prevalence is increasing, causing suffering, disability, loss of quality of life and high health expenditure. Neuroscience has shown that the perpetuation of CMP is due to alterations in the central processing mechanisms of noxious stimuli and to dysfunctions of endogenous mechanisms that inhibit pain. The treatments used in CMP obtain poor results. The combination of END and EF applied from physiotherapy are being very effective in other countries. These types of interventions have not yet been implemented and evaluated in our health system
